Newborn Hospital Visits
All babies that are born in the hospital need to be examined by a physician before being released to come home. As part of Dr. Shadab’s services, he will come to the hospital to do a routine medical check on your baby before your release from the hospital. This visit will happen approximately one day after the birth and is a quick and easy process that will provide you with peace of mind that your newborn is healthy. As a South Orange County pediatrics professional, Dr. Shadab will check your baby’s vital signs and evaluate his eyes, ears, and breathing. Additionally, Dr. Shadab will welcome you to ask any questions you might have about your newborn or the care involved. After the hospital visit, you will see Dr. Shadab in his office within a few days.
Check-Ups and Well-Baby Visits
Routine check-ups are an important aspect of your child’s preventative care. These visits give Dr. Shadab and his south Orange County pediatrics staff a chance to notice any potential issues as early as possible in order to provide your child with the best possible care. Well visits will be frequent during your child’s first year of life, but will eventually taper down to be about once per year.
At these visits, our medical staff will take your child’s height and weight measurements so that we can track his or her growth and make sure that there are no drastic changes to be concerned about. Dr. Shadab will then examine your child’s heart, lungs, mouth, ears, nose, and other areas to make sure that there are no issues. The doctor will also ask you questions about your child’s eating and sleeping habits, along with his or her behavior and physical activity. This will help Dr. Shadab determine whether or not your child is meeting certain milestones. If you have any questions about your child’s health or development, now is a good time to ask Dr. Shadab. If your child is due for any vaccinations, he or she might receive them at this time.
